As a past pupil driving up the lane to the school there is a sense of pride & achievement as I can see just how far St Malachy’s has come.
I noticed some PE activities taking place in front of the school and to be honest it was great to see that competitive sport is still a big part of the schools DNA.
Having studied in well-known business schools such as IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland & Babson College in Boston, I feel St Malachy's shares many characteristics of these great colleges beginning with its location, followed by the look and feel of the school and lastly by how I feel the students are being prepared for their studies.

The students I had a chat with are very bright, happy and eager to learn.

As well as being an author, I've been a secondary English teacher for nineteen years, and I visit many schools of all types. It's always a pleasure to visit St Malachy's. Schools whose library is central, welcoming and staffed by a specialist professional librarian, definitely give the best experience to their students. It's easy to see that St Malachy's places great emphasis on reading, which is the key to developing not only better readers, but also better people. I've worked with pupils of varying ages, and have found them enthusiastic and courteous. I've also noticed the very positive relationships between staff and pupils.

I really like St. Malachy’s High School as I get a lot of help. When I arrived everyone was welcoming and I have settled in well. My favourite subject is technology because I can be creative and my teacher is very nice.

My favourite subjects are Art and Maths. I like these subjects because my teachers are very nice and encourage me to work hard which meant in Year 11 I got good grades. I have seen a big improvement since I joined St. Malachy’s due to my teachers help and understanding. I like St. Malachy’s and think it is a very good school.

PIPS PROGRAMMES have been delighted to work closely with St .Malachy's High School, over the past two years, during which time we have delivered training to teaching staff, peer mentor groups, and all year 8 pupils, covering the subjects of suicide awareness/prevention and introduction to mental healthy /anti bullying for the younger pupils. There is always a great buzz around this school, the atmosphere is vibrant, happy and caring, it is evident that pastoral care is high on the agenda here. The young people are extremely well mannered and a joy to work with. We look forward to strengthening this link moving forward with the delivery of programmes for pupils and parents planned for the new year. The welcome from Mrs. McCombe, Mrs O'Neill and all at St.Malachy's is second to none, we look forward to many more visits to the school over the coming years.
