Year 12-14 students from St Malachy’s High School, Castlewellan returned to school on Monday 22nd March for face to face learning. They were delighted to be back in the classroom with their teachers.
The school are continuing to ensure all measures are in place to ensure a safe learning environment for both staff and students alike. There was certainly a great buzz around the school on Monday and the staff were very happy to see each of the pupils back in their classrooms. Remote learning continues for Years 8-11 but these pupils will join the rest of the school after the Easter Holidays.  Students have been engaging in remote learning since January 2021 via various online platforms. Whilst this has proved to be a valuable learning tool at this time, students and teachers alike certainly appreciate the invaluable teaching that takes place face to face. Students have also enjoyed the social aspects of being back at school and there was certainly a lot of happy faces on Monday when students met up with their friends once again, albeit behind masks!
